![]() | This template is used on 222,000+ pages. To avoid large-scale disruption and unnecessary server load, any changes to this template should first be tested in its /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user space. The tested changes can then be added to this page in one single edit. Please consider discussing any changes on the talk page before implementing them. |
![]() | This template should not be used in citation templates such as Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2, because it includes markup that will pollute the COinS metadata they produce; see COinS in Wikipedia. |
Usage
This template is a replacement for <small>...</small>
. Not all browsers render <small>
at the same size, so this template uses <small style="font-size:85%;">
to use the semantics of <small>
while ensuring that the font renders the same size.
The only parameter is the content and may contain templates, images, etc., if a block needs to be wrapped in this template and contains such elements. Note that if the =
character appears in the content, the parameter must be explicitly specified as |1=
.
- Thus {{small|1=3 + 2 = 5}} produces 3 + 2 = 5
