An open source AI research & developing project uses lojban

Hi!

I started an open source AI research & developing project which aims at making AI that could be finally considered as human. In addition, I'm going to make lojban as AI's first language. If you're interested in it, please visit:

If I understand this correctly you want to build this thing in Java... Are you sire about this? Java is a very nasty language when it comes to programming intelligent agents.

Also, I find the 3D world to be a bit useless. You want to create an intelligent and emotional AI. You're better off with first creating a basic speech and emotion core, and then use an open-source 3D engine to put the AI to the test. But hey, it's your decision.

Anyway, I'd be more than glad to help. I'm a big AI enthusiast, and was actually planning to start a very similar project this summer. So let's work together than separately, right?

It's bad that I've lost my editing after I pushed the "post" button. Here's my reply to post 2.

I choose JAVA because it goes thought platforms. Different people using different OSes can take a part. If you have more effective solution while not decreases the number of participators, such as hybrid programming with prolog, you may post it on wave.([email protected])

I adopt the idea of child-machine, what about you? In my opinion, a child-machine must learn in certain environment. A stand-alone core means null. That's why the 3D world is first(only in the meaning of time, not importance) to develop.

It's true. Java is very portable. But it is also very inflexible. I'd recommend Python, which is also quite portable, and a dynamic language. Also, it's open-source. If you really want to ge AI on a computer's arse, then you should use a form of Lisp (I'd say Common Lisp, since it's the best defined and usable dialect) only to tackle the AI's behavior, and use some other language to handle the 3D world then and perceptions of the AI. They would communicate through a virtual server.

Em... that's a good idea. I accept it.
