NOTICE SUFFICIENCY
This meeting was originally announced over a month ago, but because of some technical challenges the date was changed and the meeting reannounced. At that time the date was set to be October 30th. The second set of announcements was to the lojban, ckule, and jbosnu discussions (cross platform), and two of the large lojban groups on Discord. mukti has since posted the announcement to the lojban listserv. It should also have appeared elsewhere as I hope my request to pass it along was followed.
Is anyone concerned that sufficient notice was not given?

Historically, transcripts of the meetings have served for some years in lieu of formal minutes. As anyone who has read these transcripts know, they can be difficult to follow, and we would be better served by formal minutes.
Meeting transcripts used to be encoded in mailing list archives, but with the migration of the meeting to this message board, the effective transcripts became somewhat more difficult to read and search. Lojbab suggested that we record a transcript of meetings conducted here in the case that this site becomes unavailable, etc. I have done this now for the 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 meetings.
I would like to propose (not as a formal motion) that we adopt this practice going forward.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT

This has been a very quiet year for the Logical Language Group as an organization. The Board wasn't needed to make any decisions between the Members Meetings. What follows are a few announcements and comments.
la gleki has resigned as a Member and a Board Member, though he is still quite active in the lojban community. He was active in the LLG for many years, creating an unofficial version of the Complete Logical Language (the red book). It has corrections for many of the typographical errors in the original as well as some wording changes.
The Membership will be electing new Members of the LLG (an ongoing position as long as you choose) and the Board (for the next year) during this meeting. If you want to learn more about either position please ask in this meeting or privately with a Member or Board Member (myself, lojbab, or mukti).
I want to add that it is wonderful to see the variety of social networking being done around lojban using platforms such as Discord, Telegram, and others. One goal of the LLG has been to have an expanding community of speakers and interested people.

I really have little to report. What I've done regarding Lojban in the past year has been almost entirely personal activities rather than organizational: occasional efforts to use the language in conversations with my wife Nora. I briefly tries to resume my Arabian Nights translation, but got distracted by other events (COVID, I think). Nora and I occasionally pull out LogFlash and practice remembering our gismu (which gets a little harder at age 70 than at age 40).

Most recently, because of my current illness, the Board at my instigation has started discussing transitions needed to keep the organization and language alive after I am gone or no longer able to contribute. I am reasonably sure it can and will be handled with little trouble. The Membership will be informed and if necessary asked to make decisions, when significant decisions are made. The only immediate decision facing us is to be able to quickly relocate the official address of LLG to someplace in the state of Virginia other than my residence, if/when it ceases to be my residence. Since Karen also lives in Virginia, albeit at the other end of the state, this shouldn't be difficult as long as she is an officer/Board member.

I'm contemplating some ideas to bring us more fresh content on the LLG website, which has been a bit too quiet, and to Lojban List which has been almost completely silent, since this site became the central repository for so many chat groups.

I've been somewhat active on Discord, and sometimes I look up a fu'ivla that someone uses and find that it has no etymology entered, and I have no idea where it came from. I found a fu'ivla which I did recognize (djumxuriia) and entered the etymology.

We have a backlog of meeting transcripts to be summarized as minutes. It's not necessary to be the secretary to do that: Anyone who is interested in writing up minutes for one of the meetings should feel free to do so, and to bring those minutes to the meeting for approval. If anyone else is interested in the secretarial role, this might be a good way to get involved.
