sei'u UI evidential UI, "seemingly, apparently" (< simlu)

  • If we are to properly exploit UI, we need to add extra ones when they are as utile as the existing ones. The closest to sei'u is ja'o ("I conclude"), but sei'u, like da'i, entails ju'anai ("I do not state"). Whether ja'o ju'anai is an adequate substitute for sei'u remains to be seen.
  • sei'unai might mean "contrary to appearances", but this (to me at least) implies ju'aja'ai.
