Unfortunately, he didn't approve of Lojban, but we are allowed (so says the court) to call Lojban "Loglan" anyhow.
 
He died in 2000.  Here is his [http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lojban/message/1988 obituary]; following this message is a lot of stuff about Lojban/Loglan reunification.
