It is my opinion that "lo ni broda" is an amount of x1 of broda by default, and that anything else should be indicated by "ce'u".
This may be a bastardization of ce'u, but IMO it solves a lot of problems with ni. "lo ni ce'u nu broda" takes one of the other obvious cases, for example (although probably the ce'u could be dropped there).
